Tuition will be billed in four installments of 9 lessons each. Invoices will be sent in Sept, November, January and March.

Late Payment Fee
A $15 fee will be charged for late payments.

What your tuition covers

In addition to the private lesson time, tuition covers my time for individualized lesson planning: thoughtful selection of repertoire to best express each student’s abilities and goals, strategies for addressing technical issues specific to individual students’ challenges, goal setting and monitoring, research and planning for competitions/auditions/recitals; photocopies of solo pieces, etudes, and scales exercises; frequent communication with parents and students; instrument and equipment upgrade consultation; my time at recitals for pre-recital rehearsals and performances. There will be an additional small fee for the recital to help cover the cost of renting the venue and hiring the accompanist.

Cancellation, Rescheduling and Makeup Policy

Online lessons will follow the same policy as in-person lessons.
Your tuition reserves a weekly time slot specifically for you. If you cancel your lesson, I am not able to re-book that time slot and it becomes lost time and income for me. I will allow for 2 make-up or rescheduled lessons per school year with the following guidelines: If you cannot make your lesson time and notify me by 9:00am the day of the lesson, I will make-up or reschedule up to 2 lessons per school year. Any further requests to make-up or reschedule a lesson beyond the allowed 2 will be honored at my discretion. Cancellations or requests to reschedule made after 9:00am the day of the lesson, and missed lessons with no advance notice are not eligible for a make-up or to be rescheduled and you will not receive a refund. No refunds will be given for any cancelled lessons.
*A request to reschedule a lesson is the same thing as cancelling the lesson.*

  • Any lessons that I cancel will be made up or refunded.

  • Additional make-up lessons will be given for students attending private schools with vacation weeks different from the public school calendar.

  • I expect you to be on time, set up and ready to begin at your scheduled online lesson time.

Practice

Students who enjoy the greatest success in playing their instrument are those who maintain a regular practice schedule. I recommend that beginning and intermediate students practice 30 minutes/day, 5 days/week. Advanced students will need to allow for more practice time. Parental support is essential. I have written several articles on practicing which are available on my website www.elizabethleehey.com.

Photo release

Photos of students may be posted on my website or Facebook page for promotional purposes and congratulatory announcements for student accomplishments. Identifying information will be excluded, or limited to first names only. If you do not want your child’s image used, please let me know.
